It seems id Software is not going through its best days. The former powerhouse, responsible for iconic games like the Wolfenstein, Doom and Quake series of games is hot at work to release their latest Doom game, Doom 4. But, according to a review on Glassdoor, something’s not right there anymore.
Microsoft is holding a press event this Tuesday, and naturally the Internet has gone rampant about what it could be for. Actually no; everyone knows that they’ll probably release a new Surface line of devices. Now Windows Phone Central has come out what some details of what the guys from Redmond are planning.
The state of Linux drivers is a very old, sad and sometimes infuriating tale. I use Linux exclusively at work, 70% of my time at home; and still whenever I want to upgrade a driver, whether it’s ATI or NVIDIA, I throw a couple of Hail Marys just in case (and a couple of Bloody Marys most of the times after that). Rich Geldreich works at Valve, and is currently improving OpenGL support for games for SteamOS. His rantings about the drivers are pretty much spot on, but he doesn’t actually mention names of vendors. That’s left as an exercise...
Apple released the latest point upgrade of OS X and iTunes to the world, bringing their versions up to 10.9.3 and 11.2 respectively.
